REI at Boston's 10k for Women 2023

One of our favorite days of the year is the Boston 10K for Women! Each year, we work with our partner REI to produce an activation that invigorates runners before the race and helps the celebrate and recover post-race. Each year, we push ourselves to kick up the space a little bit more and this year was no exception. The theme of the activation was encouraging runners to let their inner sparkle show through and fostered this through many elements (including actual sparkles)! Here are some highlights:

GLITTER STATION
This was one of the most popular spots in the activation and probably in the entire race area! Runners (and their friends and family) popped in to add a little sparkle to their face and bodies before the race. Smiles were rampant and it was an absolute hit! In addition to the glittler, we offered temporary tattoos, make your own sunglasses and REI bandanas. Across the board, everyone loved the chance to dress themselves up for the race and give themselves that extra inspo before hitting the pavement.
RUNway VIDEO BOOTH
Photo and video booths always add a fun element to an activation, but the runway video technology from Keopix was an absolute hit! After sparkling themselves up, runners had the chance to hit the RUNway and showcase their best moves to create a one of kind hype video remembering the event. From costumes to dogs, this activation saw a little bit of everything, but most of all, it saw a huge line as everyone wanted a chance to give it a try!

START EM YOUNG
One of the reasons we love this race is because it's so family oriented! In addition to the main 10K race, their is a kids race through the Boston Common. Each year in addition to the main activation we host for the adult runners, we also have a smaller activity station for the kiddos! One of the biggest hits we have seen here is our shoe tying kits. Kids get to decorate their own wooden shoe that comes with custom laces so they can learn how to tie their shoes on a custom decorated cut-out! We love we can mix a little education with fun :)

Overall the day was a beautiful celebration of Women and getting outside with REI!
